School of Music "Pitch Perfect Evening" performance.
Curriculum
Participants will receive daily hands-on instruction while working directly with various levels of voice students who attend the Voice program at the SVSS Summer Music Workshops. Daily Seminars will begin with a lecture discussion based on the topics of the day. (Pedogogy, literture for young voices, audition preparation etc.) The second half of the session will include demonstration lessons by the instructors and the participants. The demonstration lessons will include discussion, problem solving and idea sharing. All rehearsals, classes and seminars will take place at a local school in Sun Valley.
Faculty will be led by Idaho State University assistant professor of Music, Dr. Diane Livingston Friedley. Dr. Friedley received her DMA from Rutgers University's Mason Gross School of the Arts and her Master of Music from Indiana University. She has been an active performer in opera and recitals throughout the U.S. and abroad. At ISU she teaches voice and has developed the successful Summer Youth Opera program here in Idaho, which she began at Rutgers University.
