Sun Valley Summer Symphony

Music Teacher Symposium

Program Description

This season's week long workshop is dedicated to public school choral conductors and area voice teachers who seek a wider understanding of the following: physiology of the voice and vocal pedogogy, solo vocal literature, audition preparation and stage deportment, and considerations in the studio and choosing appropriate solo literature. The program is held in conjunction with the Sun Valley Summer Symphony Summer Music Workshops.

Curriculum

Participants will receive daily hands-on instruction while working directly with various levels of voice students who attend the Voice program at the SVSS Summer Music Workshops. Daily Seminars will begin with a lecture discussion based on the topics of the day. (Pedogogy, literture for young voices, audition preparation etc.) The second half of the session will include demonstration lessons by the instructors and the participants. The demonstration lessons will include discussion, problem solving and idea sharing. All rehearsals, classes and seminars will take place at a local school in Sun Valley.
