Summer Music Workshops
August 2-6, 2010
The Summer Music Workshops offer local, regional, and visiting student musicians an opportunity to participate in technique classes and ensemble coaching sessions led by SVSS musicians and music educators from around the U.S. Our instructors are highly skilled professionals with a keen interest in sharing their gifts with young musicians. The Workshops include technique classes, chamber music coaching, sectionals, ensemble rehearsals and music appreciation classes. Workshops are open to Elementary, Middle School and High School music students (including those graduating in 2010).
Application Deadline: May 1, 2010 (forms available by clicking the applications link on the Educational Programs menu)
School of Music
The SVSS School of Music provides quality music education and performance opportunities in a nurturing and stimulating environment to area students in grades six through twelve who show a high aptitude for music learning and performance. Students are selected for the School of Music through audition and must have at least one year of prior training in their music discipline. By offering this innovative program, the SVSS hopes to further the intellectual and personal growth of its students through music, thus enriching the community as a whole.
Adult Education
Adult Education Lecture Series includes Upbeat with Alasdair talks which are presented throughout the year and focus on a variety of engaging musical topics, as well as the Concert Previews during the Sun Valley Summer Symphony season that feature guest speakers who give insight to the music to be perfomred that evening.
